Inspired by a ship-breaking beach in Pakistan where retired cargo ships are dragged onto the beach and “broken-up” with acetylene torches.

Each Gaddani Beach Lamp is a minimalist sculpture.
Lamps are hewn from 3/4” steel plate; rough cut by hand with an acetylene torch. All sharp edges are smoothed in a three step process. Lamps are finished with clear lacquer to show the natural scale and heat blush from the cutting process. The hand-cut process makes each lamp unique. Lamps in this series are 62” high and bases are 12” square. Barrel shades are 19” d. x 12.5” h.
